HOW VISUALIZATION CAN HELP YOU CONCEIVE

Trying To Conceive Over 40 - Pregnancy Over 40

One of the most frustrating things about trying to conceive month after month is that you can't really see what's going on. Let's face it, most of us don't have a high powered microscope hanging around our house - and even if we did, how on earth would we capture all the events involved with conception...Did the sperm meet the egg? Did the embryo find it's way down the fallopian tube? Did the embryo find a good spot to implant? If it did implant, is it getting the right mix of hormones and nutrients? It goes on and on...if you think about it, it's a miracle anyone gets pregnant.

So how do you deal with moving blindly through the getting pregnant maze? Well...here's how I dealt with it. I made my own step by step, frame by frame story board in my mind. That's what I call visualization. I would picture the sperm meeting the egg, the egg moving effortlessly through the fallopian tube (I only had one), I would visualize a little fairy (similar to Tinkerbell) helping the egg attach and so on. Sound crazy? Maybe, but all I can say is that it works. I truly believe that your mind has the ability to control actual physical processes in your body. At least for me, the best way to communicate to my body through my mind was with the use of pictures.

It's true, a picture is worth a thousand words and it's a heck of a lot easier than trying to use a microscope.

I received so many inquiries about visualization, that I developed my CD on guided visualization and meditation. Learn more here:

Meditation and Visualization CD (Fertility Shop)

Whether or not you think this CD would be helpful, you should develop your own method of visualizing what you want. Not only does it help you to attract what you want into your life, it can also be a great stress management tool. It's hard to be in a bad mood when you think about your soon to be baby.

ZINC, THE MAGICAL FERTILITY ENHANCER IN MEN AND WOMEN

Trying To Get Pregnant, The Importance Of Zinc

I've written before about the importance of zinc for fertility.  Foods high in zinc include:
This article talks about how an egg needs zinc to become fertilized and become an embryo. Although
this study was not done on humans, it's probably good to make sure your diet includes zinc rich foods or take a supplement that includes zinc. Read more:

SEE HOW ZINC CAN IMPROVE MENS FERTILITY HERE

Northwestern scientists, working with mice, discovered the egg becomes ravenous for zinc and acquires a 50 percent increase in the metal in order to reach full maturity before becoming fertilized. The flood of zinc appears to flip a switch so the egg can progress through the final stages of meiosis. Meiosis is when the egg sheds all but one copy of its maternal chromosomes before it can be fertilized by a sperm and become an embryo.

"Zinc helps the egg exit from a holding pattern to its final critical stage of development," said O'Halloran, the Charles E. and Emma H. Morrison Professor of Chemistry in the Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences at Northwestern. "It's on the knife's edge of becoming a new life form or becoming a cell that dies. It only has 24 hours. Zinc seems to be a key switch that helps control whether the egg moves forward in its development stage. "

FERTILITY WATER TREATMENT, FREE, EASY, EFFECTIVE!

In Ayurvedic medicine, there is a practice of drinking water the first thing in the morning on an empty stomach called “Usha Paana Chikitsa”.  This is thought to help cleanse the colon and purify the blood.  The body is better able to absorb nutrients after this process.  This is thought to help with a number of conditions including infertility. You should not consume alcoholic beverages the night before and you should not eat anything for one hour after drinking the water.  Sources on this recommend 5-6 glasses of water upon waking, however, I am hesitant to recommend this amount all at once since too much water too quickly can overload your kidneys.  I frequently did (and still do) drink a couple of glasses of water first thing in the morning.

Directions:
1.    This treatment is one of a kind &must be done in early morning directly after you get up from the bed, even before brushing your teeth. An individual should drink 1.5 liters of water which is 5 to 6 standard glasses of water.
The most critical thing is don't eat or drink anything prior or after drinking this water.
You should also brush your teeth at night before going to bed.
You might find it hard to drink 1.5 liters of water at one time, yet ultimately you will get the habit. To begin with, you can drink 2 glasses of water.

2.   Try to use a copper mug to do this water treatment, the copper mugs & jugs are easily available in the market. For more benefit, you should leave the water in the copper mug overnight & drink that water in early morning.
Brush your teeth before going to bed & wash the copper mug before filling the water.
3.    Fill the water & put the covered jug beside your bed table.
Take the jug of water that you kept overnight drink it slowly as soon after you get up. You may take 15 to 30 seconds of break between the 2 glasses

HOW LONG BEFORE OVULATION DO EGGS MATURE?

I have heard that you should start preparing your body for conception up to three months in advance.  I firmly believe that getting pregnant and preventing miscarriage has everything to do with an overall healthy lifestyle.  When your body is getting everything it needs in terms of nutrition, sleep, relaxation etc., it tends to make the right amount of hormones and regulate itself.  This will lead to higher quality eggs when they finally become mature and ovulate.  According to this article, it can take about 110 days for an egg to mature, but the 48 hours before ovulation is critical.
Although this article states that it's difficult to prove that egg quality is affected this far in ahead, it seems to me that a woman should do everything in her control to produce a healthy pregnancy. Read more:

From the article:

The demise of embryos, anywhere from the one-cell to the hundred-cell stage, is largely associated

with defects that have occurred in the egg, prior to its fertilization," says Van Blerkom. "So that in fact, you could argue that the stage is set for failure before fertilization."

The difficult part about determining what makes an egg good or bad is that it takes a long time for an egg to mature— about 110 days— and the place it develops, an egg follicle in a woman's ovary, is not an easy place to conduct scientific studies. Researchers are sure, however, that the last 24-48 hours of development, just before ovulation, is the most critical period of development, when chromosomal abnormalities are most likely to occur.

"I think the more pressing concern now is: Could there be insults imposed on the ovary and the development of [the egg] at even earlier times in its development?" says Albertini. "If it takes approximately 100 days to design, build and ensure that [the egg] is going to inherit all the necessary materials that will support embryonic and fetal development, then what impact might there be in not one or two, but even three menstrual cycles before that ovum would actually be released from that ovary?"

53 YEAR OLD PREGNANT WHILE ON THE PILL, AMAZING!

https://fertilityshop.blogspot.com/
Elephant Fertility Bracelet, Rose Quartz, Moonstone, Amythest
I'm always amazed at the number of women who not only get pregnant over 40 naturally, but also women who get pregnant over 50 naturally.  What makes this case remarkable is  the woman in the story got pregnant by surprise at the age of 53, and she was on the pill at the time.  She also admits to a "once in a blue moon" love life!  What are the odds of that?  Her pregnancy had a fairytale ending too.  She carried to term and had a healthy baby after a natural delivery.

At the time of her pregnancy she also had two grandchildren from her two grown kids.  After delivering her baby, she said her motherly instinct kicked in right a way and her age just was not a factor (except to the doctors who, when finding out her age, automatically assumed she had donor eggs!)

The article also mentions a few other women who had natural pregnancies in their 50's including one at 59 and one at 55!  Researchers from Israel’s Hadassah University Hospital reported at a major European fertility conference that there may be a genetic combination in some women which can  slow aging of the ovaries and protect against cellular damage making older age pregnancies more likely.

IS GETTING PREGNANT AT 44 JUST LUCK? NOT REALLY!

Pregnancy Over 40, Not just luck

Was getting pregnant over 40 just the luck of the Irish? Well, not for me...I'm not in the least bit Irish.  But in honor of St. Patrick's Day, I thought I'd talk a little bit about luck.
I sometimes hear: "Boy you were lucky to have a baby at your age". Actually I agree to a point. If you think about all the things that have to come together to get pregnant and carry a baby to term, there's a bit of luck no matter what your age. Was it a surprise I got pregnant at the age of 44? Yes and no. Yes because I think everyone is surprised when they get pregnant and no because I didn't just get pregnant by accident. I followed a systematic method of preparing my body and mind - I knew deep down I would succeed.
As far as luck goes, the world seems to be divided into two types of people. The lucky and the unlucky. Well, I came to this realization long ago:

To a great degree: you make your own luck
http://fertilityshop.blogspot.com/

I often say that when I got pregnant, it was a matter of preparedness meeting opportunity. Is that luck? Yes a little, but it never hurts to assess all the factors you can control and do everything in your power to tip the odds in your favor.

As reported in BBC News, Professor Richard Wiseman said:

My research eventually revealed that lucky people generate good fortune via four principles.

They are skilled at creating and noticing chance opportunities, make lucky decisions by listening to their intuition, create self-fulfilling prophesies via positive expectations, and adopt a resilient attitude that transforms bad luck into good.

PREGNANCY VISUALIZATION, PRECONCEPTION VISITATION

Pregnancy Over 40, Getting Pregnant May Start With Visualizing Your Child

In my Meditation and Visualization CD  I talk about visualizing your future child.  I have always believed that everything begins with a thought and the more you think it and visualize it, the more real it becomes.  This article is somewhat related and deals with preconception dreams and visits. If you've recently dreamed about a baby or child, who knows, it could be a prediction of your future. Read more:

From the article:
Many people dream before conception about what their child will look like at a certain age and when they get to that age they look exactly the way they did in the dream. Couples who have no intention of having a baby, or who have even had tubal ligations, will dream of a child wanting to be born to them, and this will have the effect of them changing their minds, even reversing surgery. Clearly these are not your ordinary everyday dreams, they have a clear and powerful message that can be life changing. At the least they offer the opportunity to fall in love with your child right from the beginning.

Pre-conception is an ideal time to be thinking about and assessing all aspects of your life and the changes you may want to make before you become pregnant. These changes could be to your career, emotional/psychological, physical and health, in your home or the location of your home, and in your relationship with each other.

Having a baby is going to create huge changes in your lives, which you will have to manage in the

midst of sleep deprivation – loss of freedom, changes in your sexual life, etc. These changes can be overwhelming, unless you are prepared.

The kind of womb, and family, that your baby comes into is going to have a profound impact upon her whole life. You can both prepare for your new baby by healing:

♥ Trauma’s based in your sexuality/pelvic area such as sexual abuse
♥ Un-grieved or unresolved prior abortions, miscarriages or stillbirth.
♥ Anything else you are holding in your womb – women often hold stress and trauma in their Pelvic Bowl area, and especially in their reproductive system.
♥ Unresolved conception, womb, birth and bonding trauma’s from your own journey’s here, that are specifically likely to affect the way you bring your own children into life.
♥ Relationship issues you have with each other, particularly around becoming parents, parenting styles, and unresolved parenting and ancestral issues from both sides of your families.

She did have complications with her pregnancy, but I wonder how much sooner she may have gotten
pregnant had she not been through all the rigors of fertility treatments.  Last Friday, I posted an article about how 25% of women failing IVF go on to have natural pregnancies.  Here's another one... read more:

From the article:
Lucy Fitzpatrick gave birth to Louis on her 40th birthday after seven attempts at IVF, a twin miscarriage and two tries at using surrogates. She finally became pregnant naturally, but then developed serious complications and gave birth prematurely.
The property developer from central London, who is now 47, was helped to have her son by the research centre at St Thomas' Hospital, funded by baby charity Tommy's. Last week, she returned with Louis, seven, to thank its head of obstetrics Professor Andy Shennan and his team.
In an interview with the Standard, Mrs Fitzpatrick, who conceived Louis naturally, called for more funding for research into preventing complications during pregnancy.

REIKI FOR FERTILITY AND GETTING PREGNANT

Reiki Helps Women With Fertility Problems Achieve Their Pregnancy Goals

Guest Post By Dawn Fleming

Reiki, a Japanese energy modality, may seem difficult for the logical mind to understand, but that is because in the western world we tend to comprehend only what we can see. When we look at the human body we see the biological aspects of bones, skin, hair, etc., as well as the chemical components of blood and hormones.
Researchers have proven that we also embody an energy component. Energy exists within each cell and between each cell - our subtle matter. This energy when blocked or diminished, can cause many
physical issues in the body to include fertility problems.
In many areas of the world, medical treatments or health and wellness models include the integration of some type of energy medicine to treat the whole body. When one's energy is out of balance, the body is impacted in some way. Over time, an energy imbalance will manifest as some type of symptom or dis-ease in the body.

The longer a practitioner works with an energy modality, the more sensitive he or she becomes to what is or is not happening in a client's energy field. After writing an article on Reiki and fertility issues, I received a phone call from Karen* explaining the challenges she is facing with fertility and
https://fertilityshop.blogspot.com/
Fertility Chakra Bracelet, Click here for complete line
how the medical community is advising her to adopt or receive a donor egg. Something in her voice tells me that she knows she can become pregnant. We then discuss what Reiki can do to support her body, mind, and emotions, whether she is trying to get pregnant on her own or go through the in vitro fertilization process.
Our life history impacts and creates the energy dynamics that are occurring in our body. Positive behaviors like good eating habits, exercising, and increasing healthy self-esteem feed a positive energy flow in the body. Constant stress, lack of exercise, substance abuse and harboring a negative or fearful belief system cause blocks in the energy field that diminish flow to different areas of the body. The energy field might also be damaged from broken bones, falls, past surgeries, major illnesses, or long-term emotional or mental stress.
An energy practitioner must first assess what is or is not occurring in the client's entire energy field and then work toward repairing and restoring it. What we need to understand when seeking any energy modality for healing is that it took years or even decades to create the energy dynamic that is occurring in our body to support or obstruct our health and pregnancy goals. Restoring wellness using Reiki is a process.
During my first session with Karen, I explored where her energy was blocked or out of balance and began to restore her energy field. I noticed that the energy around her reproductive system was very low. The left ovary energy seemed too hot, and it felt as if the energy was isolated or not connected with the rest of the reproductive system. I observed that her field on the left in those areas was leaking energy so I started working to seal the energy leaks and saturate her field with Reiki. I also felt that her sinuses on the right side were troubling her.
All parts of our body serve a role in keeping us healthy. Our energy, when at its optimum, supports total health and well being. It provides the fuel for all of our body's systems and organs to work at full capacity. Without a full tank we may feel as if we are struggling on various levels; our body might not be able to perfectly perform in the way that the various components were meant to and our emotional or mental states may experience depression or feel overwhelmed.
Unlike the medical arena where doctors note measurements of hormone levels, follicle development, anatomic abnormalities and other patterns during the work-up of infertility, Reiki cannot label specific impairments in a woman's energy field because each person's energy dynamic is different. The common thread is that each woman's energy is diminished in some way, but the reason for the low energy levels differs for each one.
After finishing the energy field assessment, I then used Reiki to bring Karen's energetic body back into balance. It may take several sessions to restore a body's energy and to repair broken and depleted energy lines (chakras, meridians, nadis, hara line) that send the energy into different parts of the body. Fortunately, Reiki can energetically connect people at a distance and achieve the same amazing results whether they are apart or physically together in the same space.
Reiki can be used throughout a woman's cycle to support the growth of follicles and recruitment of healthy eggs, the fertilization of eggs and assisting the embryo to implant in the uterine lining. Reiki also provides emotional and mental balance helping the client to align with the process of fertility in a more positive way. It is very discouraging for a woman to be told by the medical community that she should give up when she is feeling empowered to manifest a family. The negativity permeates into her emotional and energetic fields, creating more blocks. Reiki supports her into a place of knowing that all will work out for the best and that all parts of her being are working toward creating the highest good for all. We are powerful manifestors, especially where our hearts dwell. Energy follows thought and is empowered by our feelings.
It is important for women with fertility issues to know that the process of receiving Reiki to restore the energy field should begin as soon as possible when you are considering conception by any means. This gives a woman's energy field time to be cleared, repaired and strengthened for your new cycle to begin. Reiki also helps with the lack of energy that a woman feels in the first and third trimesters of pregnancy, as well as providing excellent labor and delivery support.
A physician client who successfully used Reiki to become pregnant noted that although there are no scientific studies on Reiki in the treatment of fertility, infertility is a medical crisis for a couple, impacting every aspect of their lives and wellbeing. Taking exquisite care of each other and the relationship during this time is mandatory.
