Danish actress Brigitte Nielsen has given birth to her fifth child and first daughter at the age of 54.
She and her Italian husband, Mattia Dessi, 39, said they were overjoyed by the birth of baby Frida in Los Angeles on Friday.
Nielsen is best known for starring in Rocky IV and Cobra alongside her second husband Sylvester Stallone.
She has also had a successful modelling and reality television career.
"We are overjoyed to welcome our beautiful daughter into our lives," the couple told People magazine. "It's been a long road, and so worth it. We've never been more in love."
Nielsen married Dessi, her fifth husband, in 2006.

EARTHING, BIORYTHMS, GROUNDING: HELP FERTILITY

Earthing to get pregnant

There is a practice called “earthing” which is simply walking barefoot on grass, soil, sand and so on.  Whenever possible get outside (perhaps while on a walk to get your sunlight) and remove your shoes on non-paved or non-concrete earth surfaces.  Better yet, sit directly on the grass while you eat your lunch.  This is thought to draw electrons from the earth which has been associated with a number of health benefits including stress reduction and regulating our biological clocks and rhythms.  One study found, “The research done to date supports the concept that grounding or earthing the human body may be an essential element in the health equation.”[1]  This is one reason why I feel that wearing fertility jewelry with natural stones is so effective.  Crystals and stones vibrate at their own frequency just like the cells in our body vibrate at their own frequency. Warm cooked foods are strongly recommended, especially root vegetables. Chicken soup with ginger is often recommended in China for women trying to conceive.
Add vegetables such as cabbage, broccoli, brussel sprouts and cauliflower. These foods contain di-indolymethane (DIM) which increases the metabolism of estradiol (a form of oestrogen) which will help the body use it more efficiently. In excess estradiol is associated with breast pain, weight gain,
uterine cancer and moodiness with low libido. Adding DIM will counteract these effects.
Balancing blood sugar levels will help with hormonal regulation and energy levels. This involves reducing high carbohydrates, the foods which release glucose quickly into the body. These include white sugar, biscuits, cakes, sugary drinks, too much fruit, cereals, bread, pasta, caffeine and alcohol.
Try to:
Eat a warm breakfast within one hour of waking up. Preferably oats, quinoe and a boiled egg or two.
Have protein with every meal.
Do not skip meals.

Eat more alkaline foods then acidic foods for a better pH balance for conception. Eat alkaline foods such as vegetables, sprouts, non citrus foods and cereal grasses such as wheat and barley grass. Acidic foods include meat and dairy products. Chewing food thoroughly will increase this through the alkalizing property of saliva. Do this instead of drinking anything at meal times. Avoid heavy meals late at night.
Always try to use organic plant sources, these are stronger in Qi and essence which is important in Chinese medicine for fertility.
Get plenty of essential fatty acids from unprocessed plant sources and deep sea fish.
These are essential for the health of our cells and are crucial in ovulation.
Good sources include:
Fish and fish oil.
Eggs.
Soy products.
Raw nuts and seeds.
Flaxseed and Pumpkin seed oils
Dark green vegetables.
It is essential to avoid junk food, do lots of healthy exercise like yoga or tai qi, long walks etc and more important then anything else... Relax.
Supplement your diet with natural, high-potency multivitamin and mineral complex with iron, folic acid and B vitamins.
The vitamins and minerals important for reproductive health (Vit A,C,E, B complex, zinc and selenium) enhance fertility yet are lacking in the usual western high processed diet. If these nutrients were adequately supplied through the diet, many fertility problems could be avoided. Other supplements to keep in mind are as follows:
Folic Acid - Extremely important and should be taken as soon as possible. The lack of folic acid can impair the early development of the nervous system of the foetus.
Bee pollen and/or royal jelly are regenerative and tonifying.
Blue-green algae i.e. chlorella and spirulina nourish the endocrine, nervous and immune system, regulate metabolism and repair tissue.
Wheatgrass is tonifying and enhances immunity and restores hormonal function.

If you are trying to conceive, you analyze and probably over-analyze every little change in your body....not to mention hoarding pregnancy tests.  Do you think you may be pregnant but you're not sure of the signs and symptoms? GETTING PREGNANT AS A VEGETARIAN

Being a vegetarian or a vegan can be a very healthy lifestyle. It centers around a plant based diet and, although there still temptations in junk food, being a vegetarian usually lends itself well to eating right. I was a vegetarian for many years and like me, most vegetarians are very well educated on how to have a balanced diet with the right amount of protein. The average person's protein needs will vary, and there are differing opinions in the literature for what the protein needs are for men and women. It's estimated that the average sedentary person should get 46 grams (women) to 56 grams (men) per day. This can vary based on body mass and the amount of physical activity. Pregnancy increases your protein needs to about 70 grams per day (again, this can vary based on body weight, exercise and so on). Wheatgrass has recently gained in popularity and is showing up in juice bars everywhere. When I think of wheatgrass, I think of cows grazing in a pasture, but it's a great food for people too. So why is wheatgrass so good for fertility? Here are some reasons:

There are also external ways to use wheatgrass, for example, did you know you could bathe in it? As odd as that sounds, you can add some wheatgrass juice to your bath water and soak for 1/2 hour. This is thought to disinfect the skin and it is actually reported to increase your red blood cells. It is also great if you have itchy skin or body odor.
not familiar with pH, it ranges between 1-14 with 7 being neutral.  If your body is under 7, it may be too acidic.  Ideally, your pH would be a bit on the alkaline side in the 7.35—7.45 range.  An alkaline environment is best for conception.

I should mention that by the time I conceived my daughter, I had given up on fertility treatments and actually did not even want to know what my hormone levels were.  I figured that if the information was negative, it might derail me.  However, I know many women and their doctors do monitor and want to monitor their hormones.

Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH) Day 3 3-20 mIU/ml FSH is often used as a gauge of ovarian reserve. In general, under 6 is excellent, 6-9 is good, 9-10 fair, 10-13 diminished reserve, 13+ very hard to stimulate. In PCOS testing, the LH:FSH ratio may be used in the diagnosis. The ratio is usually close to 1:1, but if the LH is higher, it is one possible indication of PCOS.
Estradiol (E2) Day 3 25-75 pg/ml Levels on the lower end tend to be better for stimulating. Abnormally high levels on day 3 may indicate existence of a functional cyst or diminished ovarian reserve.

 Estradiol (E2) Day 4-5 of meds 100+ pg/ml or 2x Day 3 There are no charts showing E2 levels during stimulation since there is a wide variation depending on how many follicles are being produced and their size. Most doctors will consider any increase in E2 a positive sign, but others use a formula of either 100 pg/ml after 4 days of stims, or a doubling in E2 from the level taken on cycle day 3.
Estradiol (E2) Surge/hCG day 200 + pg/ml The levels should be 200-600 per mature (18 mm) follicle. These levels are sometimes lower in overweight women.
Luteinizing Hormone (LH) Day 3 < 7 mIU/ml A normal LH level is similar to FSH. An LH that is higher than FSH is one indication of PCOS.
Luteinizing Hormone (LH) Surge Day > 20 mIU/ml The LH surge leads to ovulation within 48 hours.

Prolactin Day 3 < 24 ng/ml Increased prolactin levels can interfere with ovulation. They may also indicate further testing (MRI) should be done to check for a pituitary tumor. Some women with PCOS also have hyperprolactinemia.
Progesterone (P4) Day 3 < 1.5 ng/ml Often called the follicular phase level. An elevated level may indicate a lower pregnancy rate.
Progesterone (P4) 7 dpo > 15 ng/ml A progesterone test is done to confirm ovulation. When a follicle releases its egg, it becomes what is called a corpus luteum and produces progesterone. A level over 5 probably indicates some form of ovulation, but most doctors want to see a level over 10 on a natural cycle, and a level over 15 on a medicated cycle. There is no mid-luteal level that predicts pregnancy. Some say the test may be more accurate if done first thing in the morning after fasting.

Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH) Day 3 .4-4 uIU/ml Mid-range normal in most labs is about 1.7. A high level of TSH combined with a low or normal T4 level generally indicates hypothyroidism, which can have an effect on fertility.
Free Triiodothyronine (T3) Day 3 1.4-4.4 pg/ml Sometimes the diseased thyroid gland will start producing very high levels of T3 but still produce normal levels of T4. Therefore measurement of both hormones provides an even more accurate evaluation of thyroid function.

Free Thyroxine (T4) Day 3 .8-2 ng/dl A low level may indicate a diseased thyroid gland or may indicate a non- functioning pituitary gland which is not stimulating the thyroid to produce T4. If the T4 is low and the TSH is normal, that is more likely to indicate a problem with the pituitary.

Total Testosterone Day 3 6-86 ng/dl Testosterone is secreted from the adrenal gland and the ovaries. Most would consider a level above 50 to be somewhat elevated.
Free Testosterone Day 3 .7-3.6 pg/ml
Dehydroepiandrosterone Sulfate (DHEAS) Day 3 35-430 ug/dl An elevated DHEAS level may be improved through use of dexamethasone, prednisone, or insulin-sensiting medications.

Sex Hormone Binding Globulin (SHBG) Day 3 18-114 nmol/l Increased androgen production often leads to lower SHBG
17 Hydroxyprogesterone Day 3 20-100 ng/dl Mid-cycle peak would be 100-250 ng/dl, luteal phase 100-500 ng/dl
Fasting Insulin 8-16 hours fasting < 30 mIU/ml The normal range here doesn't give all the information. A fasting insulin of 10-13 generally indicates some insulin resistance, and levels above 13 indicate greater insulin resistance.
