SNL Actress Rachel Dratch - Surprise Pregnancy At 44

Pregnancy Over 40 Naturally At 44

I was listening to the NPR program, "Wait Wait, Don't Tell Me" last weekend and their guest was Rachel Dratch (see transcript here.)

She wrote a book after she left the show and she talks about her surprise pregnancy when she was 44. I keep finding stories about women who think they're too! Read more:

From the article:

A funny thing happened to “Saturday Night Live” cutup Rachel Dratch on her way to middle age: She got pregnant at 44!

“Total shocker,” the Lexington homegal told the Track. “I had kind of written off the whole kid thing and then I got this surprise. Because, you know, everything you hear tells you it can’t happen.”

So Dratch, who will always be known in these parts as the female half of “Saturday Night Live” Red Sox [team stats]-crazed couple Sully and Denise, did the one thing she is really good at: She wrote about it in a hilarious new book, “Girl Walks Into a Bar ...”

“When everything goes according to plan, there’s really nothing funny about that,” she said. “And I thought the whole surprise of this would make a good story.”
